Sharing Files
In Google Drive, you are able to share both individual files and entire folders with the public or just with select people. This is an easy way to work together as a group on an assignment, or to have someone else check your work before handing it in.
To share a file or files, select them from your list.
To select more than one file, hold down the Command key (Ctrl on Windows or Chromebook) and click each one.
You can also click and hold your mouse, then drag over a bunch of files to select the all at once.

Once a file is selected, a bunch of new icons will appear on the upper toolbar.
You want to select the Share Group Assignment button.

This will open up the Share with others window.
Here you can chose who gets access to your file.

The drop down menu on the right will give you options on what the people you are sharing with can actually do with the file.
You can tell when a file is being shared in your Google Drive because the shared icon will appear next to the it.
If someone shares a file with you, you will find it under the Shared with me section of your Google Drive.
It is located in the toolbar on the left.
You will see who owns the file, and when they shared it with you.
